Duke parcel lockers

Campus Mail Services has added intelligent parcel lockers to expedite delivery! Duke smart lockers are located on both West and East Campus:

  • Bryan University Center near the Student Mailbox Center. (West)
  • East Union Marketplace, Blackwell and Randolph Residential halls. (East)

E-mail notifications are sent for Parcel delivery, and you will get a Code 777 in Subject Line. First, read e-mail to tell you what location to get your package! Follow steps below:

  1. The e-mail will provide a pin # and/or a barcode,
  2. Go directly to KIOSK Touch screen,
  3. Enter pin # or scan barcode to get package. Door will open. Close locker door. Done!

History of Intelligent (Smart) Parcel Lockers at Duke University

2025 Phase III

In July 2025, Duke Postal Operations installs another Smart Parcel Locker bank at the Bryan University Center on West Campus. This new bank consists of 243 doors will provide additional boxes to stage small packages and U.S. Mail for students to pick-up there. It is fully operational for the coming Fall semester. 

It is conveniently located at the Student Mailbox Center Lobby which is across the Window counter. Duke students are notified via e-mail that provides a code for the Kiosk to access their packages.

2023 Phase II

DPO completes installation of Lockers on East Campus which consisted of three locker banks conveniently located for Duke students to pick-up packages. This new “Touchless Package Delivery” enables CMS staff to expedite packages directly to East campus locations. Duke students are notified via e-mail that provides a code for the Kiosk to access their packages.

2022 - Amazon

Campus Mail Services-CMS partnered with Amazon to install AMZ lockers on campus. The first AMZ locker pilot and installation was at 300 Swift Ave for Duke students. Next, we added four locker banks at Residential halls on East campus and two locker banks on West Campus. There are seven locations on-site for Amazon to deliver packages.

2021 - Phase 1

Duke Postal Operations-DPO purchases new Smart Parcel Lockers for the Student Mailbox Center at the Bryan University Center. Starting with Phase One with the first locker to show “Proof of Concept” at Duke University.

Overall, there have been 30,481 packages delivered within the “Touchless Package Delivery” environment. These lockers have proven to be a game changer and Duke students enjoy the flexibility of picking up packages at their leisure, after hours and even weekends as well.

Automating the package delivery continues to minimize long lines and wait times for students. In turn, our staff is able to expedite packages more efficiently and increase work productivity.
